PTFE CNC machining is the process of cutting precision components from PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and related high-performance polymers using computer-numerically-controlled machine tools. The result is parts with tight dimensional tolerances, smooth surface finishes, and the exact geometry specified in your drawing.

We machine PTFE and filled PTFE grades, as well as UHMWPE, PEEK, and other engineering polymers. From a simple bush or bearing to a complex multi-axis valve component — if it's in a drawing, we can make it.

Accepting drawings in PDF, CAD (DXF, DWG), and STEP/STP formats. Tolerances up to ±0.01mm. No minimum order quantity — prototypes, small batches, and large production runs all welcome.

Materials We Machine

PTFE, filled PTFE grades, and other engineering polymers for demanding applications.

Virgin PTFE

Pure PTFE with maximum chemical purity. Best for food, pharmaceutical, and ultra-high-purity applications. Maximum chemical resistance across pH 0–14.

Temp: -200°C to +260°C | Friction: Extremely low | Chemical: Universal

Glass-Filled PTFE (25%)

PTFE filled with 25% glass fiber. Improved dimensional stability and compressive strength compared to virgin PTFE. Slightly reduced chemical resistance in strong alkalis.

Temp: -200°C to +260°C | Strength: Higher than virgin | Wear: Improved

Carbon-Filled PTFE

PTFE filled with carbon or graphite. Excellent thermal conductivity and wear resistance. Improved creep resistance under load. Good for dry-running and abrasive media.

Temp: -200°C to +260°C | Conductivity: High | Wear: Excellent

Graphite-Filled PTFE

PTFE with graphite filler. Excellent self-lubricating properties. Good thermal conductivity. Ideal for bearings, bushings, and sliding applications where oil or grease is not available.

MOS₂-Filled PTFE

PTFE with molybdenum disulfide (MOS₂) additive. Improved wear resistance and lower coefficient of friction compared to virgin PTFE. Good for dynamic sealing and bearing applications.

Temp: -200°C to +260°C | Friction: Lower than virgin | Wear: Good

UHMWPE

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. Excellent impact resistance and abrasion resistance. FDA-compliant. Lower temperature limit than PTFE (-200°C to +80°C) but superior for wear and impact.

PEEK

Polyether ether ketone. High-performance engineering polymer with excellent mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and temperature capability (+250°C continuous). FDA grades available.

FEP / PFA

Fluoropolymers similar to PTFE but with slightly different properties. FEP has lower temperature limit (+200°C) but is transparent and melt-processable. PFA offers higher temperature capability (+260°C) with similar properties to PTFE.

Q: What drawing formats do you accept?
We accept PDF (preferred for 2D drawings), CAD formats (DXF, DWG), and 3D models (STEP, STP, IGES). STEP files are preferred for complex 3D geometry as they preserve surface data better than other formats. If you only have a sketch or photo, contact us — we may be able to work with that.
Q: What tolerances can you achieve on PTFE parts?
Standard tolerances are ±0.05mm on linear dimensions. Tight tolerances of ±0.01mm are achievable on simpler geometries — contact us to confirm feasibility for your specific part. Note: PTFE has a relatively high coefficient of thermal expansion, so tolerance hold-out requires controlled machining temperature or material-specific considerations.
Q: Do you offer surface finishing services?
Yes. Standard as-machined surface finish is Ra 1.6–3.2 μm. We also offer polishing, sandblasting, and surface treatment to achieve smoother finishes (Ra 0.2–0.8 μm) for bearing and sealing surfaces. Contact us to discuss your surface finish requirements.
Q: What is the lead time for a prototype?
Typical prototype lead time is 5–10 working days from drawing approval. This covers material procurement (if not in stock), CNC programming, machining, inspection, and packing. For complex multi-axis parts or large quantities, lead time is longer — we will confirm the exact schedule in the quote.
Q: Do you machine other polymers besides PTFE?
Yes. We machine UHMWPE, PEEK, Nylon (PA6/PA66), Delrin (Acetal/POM), and other engineering plastics. The most common is PTFE and its filled grades, but we have experience across the full range of thermoplastics and fluoropolymers.
Q: Can you provide material certifications and test reports?
Yes. Material certifications (mill test certificates) are available for all base materials, showing resin grade, lot number, and key properties. For food, pharmaceutical, or semiconductor applications, we can provide full traceability documentation including FDA or USP compliance statements.
Q: What are the key considerations when machining PTFE?
PTFE is relatively soft and has a tendency to flow (creep) under machining pressure. Sharp tools, low cutting speeds, and careful chip evacuation are essential to avoid material deformation and surface defects. Virgin PTFE also tends to gall and stick to cutting tools — correct tooling geometry and feeds are critical. We have developed machining parameters optimized for each PTFE grade we work with.
Q: Do you offer assembly or sub-assembly services?
Our core capability is CNC machining. For simple assembly (press-fitting, adhesive bonding of PTFE to metal housings), contact us to discuss. For complex multi-component assemblies, we may be able to coordinate with partner workshops — describe your requirement in the RFQ.
